Computers for kids

"I didn't think I had it in me to even build a computer, so I'm glad I learned that skill,"

An offshoot of Advantage Computer Co-op, Computers for Kids is a completely self supporting social enterprise. It refurbishes donated computers to either re-sell at below market price to low income households or gives them to social agencies to be distributed where they are needed most.

Computers for Kids gives away one computer for each one they sell, approximately 30 per month. This model lets them pay their own way entirely, requiring absolutely no government subsidies.

Buying a computer from Computers for Kids is a socially responsible purchase; the buyer is supporting a program that helps the community by not only providing employment training, but also by keeping older computers in use and out of landfill.

Community First's investment in Computers for Kids has become a truly valuable service to the community.
