…Station 20 West will contribute greatly to improving the quality of life for people living in our core neighbourhoods.
Saskatoon's West side is a "food desert". Because there are no grocery stores nearby, access to healthy food is difficult for those without transportation. For many neighborhood residents, convenience stores and gas stations are their primary food source.
The concept of Station 20 West arose from the community's desire to address this lack of healthy food by starting a grocery store. The idea expanded to a vision of a "one-stop" approach to medical, health, nutrition, employment and housing services.
Community First is supporting Station 20 West's fund raising campaign. So far, over a million dollars has been raised.
